Kuala Lumpur Nightlife

Kuala Lumpur nightlife is a buzz, with so much going on and something to suit everyone’s tastes. As the heat of the day subsides the city lights up with a neon glow, the multitude of clubs and bars preparing for a busy night of karaoke singing, dancing and drinking. There are also many great restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, offering excellent food in a wonderful atmosphere and a taste of authentic KL.

The main clubbing district in Kuala Lumpur is called Jalan P Ramlee, and this is where the city’s best clubs can be found. Located within the Golden Triangle it is easily accessible for tourists, making it very popular. Another well-known clubbing district is Bangsar, often seen as a place to go to later in the evening after enjoying a few bars first. It is to the south of the city so a taxi is the recommended mode of transport.

For something a little different then a Mamak Stall is highly recommended. These are basically small cafes where food and drink is often served, and open until the early hours of the morning. They tend to be very popular with the locals who will gather to chat or watch sport on the TV screen that all Mamak Stalls seem to have and can make for a refreshing alternative to the usual high gloss Kuala Lumpur experience.

A place not to be overlooked for nightlife in Kuala Lumpur is the hotel, where the bars become very busy during the evenings and most offer live entertainment. All of the hotels operate this way, welcoming visitors and with their location in the Golden Triangle they are all easy to get to.
